Beef + Lamb NZ recent campaign has shown it is possible to not only add value to NZ red meat but deliver a premium back to the suppliers.
Professor Paul Dalziel of Lincoln University Agribusiness & Economics Research Unit said based off 24 overseas surveys run over three years, and generating 10,000 data points, it is possible to determine key influences on consumer choices. In all the surveys, the figures suggest market segments can be identified that are willing to pay a significant premium on food and fibre that delivers claims around the environment.
