Northern Hemisphere Agriculture practices are causing less productive honey bees

Northern Hemisphere Agriculture practices are causing the Bee industry to face numerous threats and consequently the bees are producing less honey. Bees require diverse plant life for nectar, an increasing percentage of land is being developed for residential housing and planted with Monocrops, could this be the case in New Zealand?
